I have two miracles that I deal with daily, my daughter and my son. The doctors told me from a very early age that I would not have children. It was so shocking that I got pregnant, the doctor asked me how I did it. My response was nothing different than anyone else…unless there was a new way to actually do it!!!!LOL!!!
Both of my pregnancies were difficult… Bedrest, testings, hospital, and stays. My second pregnancy was different from the beginning. It took 9 years to find out that my son has AUTISM. He is respectful, smart, and talented. He learned coping mechanisms at an early age so, it was hard to detect. A mother knows when things are not all right. My son completes our family. He fits in just fine with our family dynamics.
I always let my children know that there is no such thing as “NORMAL” and when we got his diagnosis, my son wanted this shirt made for himself. We are all special and different; that is what makes life exciting.
I want people to know that loving and caring for your children with or without special needs is important. Love and patience are essential to LIFE.
I am thankful for being BLESSED with my babies. I want to encourage anyone who has children with special needs to find support for you and your family to cope because it is not always easy, but it is necessary. I have joined groups online and became involved with my son’s AUTISM Center. Learn all you can and just love your children as best as you can.

I sit here reading the words you have written with tears in my eyes.
I have a story similar to yours; a difficult pregnancy, a feeling something was not quite right, and now with my oldest son on the Autism spectrum. I look back at what God has accomplished in his life despite what the doctors believed. Our God is able to make a success out of ANYONE, we are all proof of that!
Be encouraged, the gifts and talents your young man has are yet to be fully revealed!

I am glad that my blogs are relatable and that you faithfully follow it… It is amazing how awesome our children are and how much we invest in them to make sure that they are not just what is written in a file. God does a awesome job grooming us by using our children to make us better.
