This holiday was the first holiday that I have truly enjoyed in a long time. There was no mixture of sadness with this holiday.
I am so grateful. I was able to grill this holiday because last year I was not able to due to treatment. I got to enjoy my family without any interruptions or worry. I missed my girl, though. She loved to barbecue. I know I did her proud with hamburgers, chicken, ribs, and steaks this weekend; every day different meat with tasty sides.
We watched movies, laughed, and rested in between. We had homemade smoothies and even went out for milkshakes.
Learning to be grateful for the littles things and enjoying my present moments will be the lessons I remember most from all I have been through these last couple of years.
My Blessed state is my now state. Blessed to just exist, enjoy and love.
Take no moment in your life for granted enjoy every little thing and then you will see the big picture.

I had a great Memorial Day as well. We cooked out and had good friends and family. It’s always nice to have wonderful food and company.

Holidays are meant to be enjoyed with the special people in your life but sometimes, we simply can’t. I’m glad you were able to celebrate with them. That’s really awesome.

I love holidays too! What I don’t like with holiday is when we are not complete as a family.

Since I’ve lost both parents, and my adult kids are scattered in three other states (and none here in my state), holidays are really difficult. We used to have such great large family gatherings at my parents’ house for all occasions, or just to get together. Really miss them!

Well being an only child, it is lonely being far away from my family…
