Have you ever been driving and your favorite song starts playing on the radio? Just when you get to the good part…. it is interrupted by static. You catch bits and pieces of the song, but the euphoric feeling you usually get is dampened by the interference. The song did not lose its meaning, but its effect on you changed, so what happened?
Static….static….all I hear is static, noise with a purpose when someone is nasty or unkind. Static is all I hear when people are tactless and critical of others without a solution. I have learned that people and situations that cause confusion or turmoil are distractions. Distractions keep you from moving forward and achieving your goals. Static stops us from feeling and connecting from pinnacle moments in our life. Static causes you to say things and do things that will take you out of character.
When you become disconnected from your peace, you leave room for something else to occupy that space. What have you allowed to occupy that space: anxiousness, insecurity, hurt, self-loathing, or anger? Why are we allowing static to redirect our attention and intentions? Why do we let people or things control our moments of peace and happiness? When are we, I say we cause this happens to me a lot, not going to allow the static to distract you from the important things like LIVING with purpose and remaining at peace so that we don’t miss out on what God has for us.
Static is a disruption in frequency. When the frequency is disrupted we get separated from the source of our enjoyment or experience. How do you reconnect with your peace? How do you get rid of your static?
I do something very simple. I reconnect with my source of peace. I bask in the presence of God. I simply sit in his presence and allow my space to be filled by him. I set an atmosphere… away from everyone else…I disconnect from hurt, pain, anger, and free myself to reconnect in God. God keeps me sane. God keeps me safe from my own thoughts… LOL. God keeps me focus on what matters most.
