People don’t understand what it is to be BLESSED. I have previously shared the experience of being a cancer survivor. Even when going through chemotherapy I would say how BLESSED I was. My cancer was aggressive and my biggest cheerleader was not here. But God has BLESSED me with my sister-friends, and brother-friends, and Godmothers. I have two sister-friends that called every day to encourage me. My brother-friends shaved their heads when I had to shave mine and wore pink studs in honor of my battle. My Godmothers stepped right in. One keeping medical records and giving me medical advice on the natural remedies and the other being the voice my mother knew I would need praying, screaming, and crying when I could not. This is not to say that other people were not there but these are my pillars.
I was BLESSED not to have nausea. I was BLESSED to be able to eat even when I was too fatigued to move. I was BLESSED not to get any infections nor be hospitalized. I was BLESSED to have my children and significant other there for every chemotherapy session. I was BLESSED to have nurses that paid attention to detail and all my concerns. I was BLESSED with a praying church. I was BLESSED with my own personal Angel. I was BLESSED with doctors that cared for and loved their job. I was BLESSED to have my aunts, cousins and my father call to encourage and check on me. They show me Love beyond the distance.
Being BLESSED is beyond the Big Things. Being BLESSED is the little things we sometimes fail to notice. A voice, a hug, a smile, a question, a touch, a tear, a prayer, a call, a gesture, or just a word is a BLESSING… Be One and Receive One.
