  1. I am learning to raise my daughter to be her own individual. It hurt me to the core to hear her say that I really do not know her. I had gotten too numb to my own way of life and pain that my teenager had developed her own way of coping with my numbness. Now, I am getting “woke” with it and more conscious of her needs and requests for love in simple ways that count so she can be more open to expressing her strength.

    • Victoria I understand that completely… I have two children. My son has autism and he can be very blunt at times. I take the time to listen to them and ask what I call truth Questions… What Can I do to be better for you? sometime we have to hear from them to improve for them. I ask the hard questions and they are allowed to give me the hard answers without recourse. I am happy you were able to start turning things around; many of us parents are stuck in our ways and refuse to adapt. Thank you for reading and sharing.
